McNeil is a Houston based artist making large-scale paintings and intimate works on paper. Before locating to Houston, McNeil received her MFA from The University of Illinois at Chicago where she was awarded full fellowship. She actively participates in group and solo exhibitions nationally, most recently New York, LA, Houston, and Dallas.  Her works have been included in the 2011/2013 Texas Biennial and the Texas Invitational. Paintings are cited in numerous editions of New American Paintings and Art ltd. Magazine. From 2012 to 2014 McNeil was visiting Artist Faculty at the University of Houston teaching painting. Awards include The Milton and Sally Avery Fellowship, MacDowell Colony, Purchase Award from the Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR, and the CAAP Grant from the City of Chicago, Cultural Affairs. McNeil has been artist-in-residence at MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, NH, and is the current alternate for the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program in NYC.
